| Mission & Goals: |
| The
Chicago Catholic Coed Softball League -- the CCCSL -- is an Illinois
not-for-profit entity incorporated for two main purposes: 1) to bring
together interested individuals into an environment where all are
welcome, respected, and included, exactly where they are along life's
journey; and 2) in recognition of our blessings we desire to give back
to God's world by means of sharing our time, talents, and treasure with
society and the world at large -- by hosting volunteer and charity
events and by making donations to charitable organizations at various
points during the year in the name of all of the League's participants
and supporters. |

| History: |
| The
CCCSL grew out of a simple ad placed in Chicago's Old St. Patrick's
Church bulletin in the spring of 1995. It offered respondents a fun way
to get together by entering teams into an already-existing springtime
league in Grant Park. Two teams representing Old St. Pat's were formed
that year, and three, four, and five teams followed during the next
three springs! When in 1999 Old St. Pat's had six teams -- more than
the entire rest of the league! -- and the pre-existing league director
decided to pursue other interests, the decision was made to go on our
own. |

| Rules of Play: |
| The
CCCSL has become a very enjoyable experience for players of all ability
levels, from those never having played before to players of advanced
skill levels. One of the reasons is that the League employs the
classic, ages-old rules of softball - but with some slight revisions. A
few rules were modified to foster and protect a main intent of the
League - to be a source of healthy recreation, socializing, and
inclusion for participants of all ability levels. The official CCCSL
rules may be downloaded from the 'Forms' page. |
