Quo vadis?
is a Latin phrase meaning "Where are you going?"  This phrase calls to mind the day when Peter was fleeing persecution in Rome. On his way, he meets Jesus and asks him, "Quo vadis/Where are you going?" Jesus' answer: "I am going to Rome to be crucified again."  This gives Peter the courage to continue his ministry as head of the early Church.

We may be asking ourselves, "Where am I going?" "Where is the Lord calling me?" Marriage? Committed Single Life? Priesthood? Religious Life?   Whenever Jesus called His disciples, He always said to them, "Follow me." The best way to understand where our Lord is calling us is to pray and stay close to the Sacraments.

Every second Wednesday of the month, beginning October 13th, young adults are encouraged to join us for adoration, confession, and mass. This is a great opportunity to take some time out from the hustle and bustle of the noisy and hectic work week to enjoy some quiet time with our Lord Jesus so as to listen to His voice and respond wholeheartedly to where He is calling you.

August Reading: Intellectuals Don't Need God and Other Myths By: Alister McGrath

Intellectuals Don't Need God is for people who are not convinced by the arguments of classical, rationalistic apologetics, for people who feel that Christianity must have a broader appeal that to reason alone if it is to be persuasive to non-Christians. Alister McGrath shows convincingly that reason is only one of many possible points of contact between the non-Christian and the gospel. In today's world, non-rational concerns -- such as a sense that life lacks focus, an unconscious fear of death, a deep sense of longing for something unknown we don't have but know we need -- are much more effective points of contact for apologetics.
